FFS. Can you seriously not see the fundamental difference between these activities?

Dude, I am agreeing with you. I just think you think too small, too narrowly. I support what you said, and expanded it to include more scenarios.

If you believe I missed certain key differences, enumerate them and we can discuss.

Fair enough. But I draw a distinction between activities that are simply intended to inconvenience and those that are a matter of public participation.

Public protest is a matter of public participation too, is it not?

The difference being the congestion is a side effect of the e participation, not the sole intention.

              It is murder.

I know that Ax is being Ax, but I get what he is saying (I think).

One mans rally is another mans protest.

President Trump/Biden holds a rally that blocks off the surrounding streets.
Abortion in favor/against group holds a rally that blocks off the surrounding streets.

No easy answers. At least there is the freedom to hold these and I guess that is better than the opposite.

                  With permits - legal.

                  Without permits - illegal.

                  Simple.

No, TG, that completely misses the point. Rallies and sport events etc. do not INTEND to cause traffic problems, it's a secondary characteristic of widely popular events. These protests intend to use impeding ingress and egress as a weapon.

                      And, they are legal.
