They were quite nice and friendly there. They saw me standing out in the hall and invited me in so I had to make up some questions as to why I was there. LOL

Interesting pics, TG! Would be cool to have an honorary embassy in my house. I guess it doesn't enjoy the diplomatic immunity of a real embassy though.

        Education is extremely important.

@Horace Great minds think alike. I have thought the same thing. Find some obscure country and offer to be their consul. LOL

I got to know, in a professional and over time, social capacity, the local Honorary Consul for a European country which is now a EU member state. At that time it was not an EU member. The position has few perks, minimal prestige and actually incurs a lot of unanticipated out of pocket costs in the faint hope of a meagre commission or finder’s fee on some small business transaction. Any big commercial deal has agents fully engaged and embedded well in advance of any negotiations. Not worth it. No thanks.

            Elbows up!

Consulate of Syria. I believe the main embassy for this area is in Beijing. I am 99% sure this the correct location, but they obviously look like they went out of business. LOL

I have never heard of Burkina Faso. So I googled it. The country is beautiful.

                    Some more

                    IMG_1482.JPG

Consul General of Papua New Guinea. It is located as part of a company office. They were quite nice in there to me. Gave me all kinds of tourism information on the country.

Embassy of India. Doing a lot of road construction on the road in front of the embassy.

                    IMG_1492.JPG

                    IMG_1491.JPG

                    IMG_1489.JPG

Embassy of Sri Lanka. Also quite nice to me. Met a Sri Lanka guy there who was working in Thailand who needed to talk to the embassy. He liked to talk and told me a lot about the country. LOL

                    IMG_1493.JPG

Building where Sri Lanka embassy is located. Also in the same building is Embassy of Israel. But there was ALOT of security for there, and I was kind of afraid to make up story to try to get to the Israel embassy. So, I kind of chicken out to go there. 555

                      IMG_1498.JPG

If you look closely, you can see them listed. It appears to be just a "co-work" space so dont really know how active or available they are. I am guess it is a honorary consulate.

Above is the building with the Liberia Consulate. This is also a honorary consul. Building was gated and it was a Sunday, so I could not get inside to "check it out"
