Hamas attacks Israel
-
Israel has dropped thousands of papers over downtown gaza city telling them they have 24 hours to evacuate (I think that was like 12 hours ago), with a map showing a line of where they need to move beyond (aka south towards Egypt, to the southern part of the Gaza strip). Anyway... it's usually what happens before a town is about to get absolutely leveled. Could happen tomorrow?
-
Probably ground invasion starts tomorrow.
-
I am guessing non-combatants in Gaza who hunker down and are found by Israeli soldiers, will be ok. The danger to them will be their use as human shields by Hamas.
Then there is the issue of what Hamas does to the Gaza civilians after Israel leaves. Will there be inquisitions about whether they fought back?

Should not even be an issue.
The objective is to annihilate Hamas once and for all.
There will be no Hamas to seek revenge on anyone let alone the residents of Gaza.

There's a bit of an irony in Poland not taking any refugees. The rest of Europe is awash with Poles getting the fuck out of there in order to earn some money. I thought that guy was a wanker, TBH.
-
Not quite true. He states that Poland has accepted a lot of refugees from Ukraine.
I have no knowledge of Poles leaving for better wages. Care to educate me?
Perhaps in a new thread to keep this one on topic (which I potentially derailed - my bad).
-
This is a country that fairly recently made it a crime to implicate the Polish state or people in the holocaust.
You've got to ask yourself why they felt the need to pass such a law.

Hay @bachophile!
What’s the sense of how things are by you?

Well, on a personal level, in a bit of a lull, occasional sirens (one of the dogs, I’m dog sitting one of my daughters dogs who lives in Tel Aviv, goes absolutely bonkers with every siren and subsequent boom of iron dome)
If and when the ground incursion starts I will be again in mass casualty mode which may bring tense hours at work.
On the more macro scale, I think Netanyahus career is over. He will stay at the helm for the war but no matter what the outcome, his government will fall, there is broad consensus that any other outcome is impossible.
All his legal issues and the judicial reform have melted away into nothing. He will be the one on whose watch disaster befell the country. Nothing will wash that away. And I sense that I see it on his face as he addresses the nation.
