The Sad Cognitive Decline of a President
-
It is irresponsible to obsess over President Biden’s tendency to mangle a couple of words in a speech while Donald Trump is out there sounding detached from reality. Biden, who is old, at least makes sense. Trump, who also is old, rants like someone you’d cross the street to avoid.
We in the media have failed by becoming inured to Trump’s verbal incontinence — not just the rapid-fire lies and revenge-seeking threats, but also the frightening glimpses into a mind that is, evidently, unwell. In 2016, Trump said outrageous things at his campaign rallies to be entertaining. In 2024, his tangents raise serious questions about his mental fitness..

I watched that part of the rally. Trump was just riffing off the top of his head. Spitballing on a large stage.
Big whoop...

You know, I really enjoy Trump's ability to speak off the cuff, recall details, and speak sincerely. It's refreshing compared to the overly scripted remarks by most Presidents. That being said, it does run the risk of making comments about using bleach to stop COVID, or debating if boats are electric, will you be electrocuted if the boat sinks and whether that's better than a shark biting you.
-
It's just Trump.
It's what you get ...

I'm sure there's some context to explain this...
Unfortunately, I dont think so. I am still surprised that President Biden (or the people running him) agreed to the debates. Maybe they thought that President Trump would not agree to the rules and then they could say, "well, we wanted to debate, but..."

Trump challenges Biden to cognitive test, but confuses name of doctor who tested him
LOL And the election just gets better. Sigh.......

Former President Donald Trump failed to impress everyone in a room full of top CEOs this week, multiple attendees told CNBC.
“Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” said one CEO who was in the room.
Several CEOs “said that [Trump] was remarkably meandering, could not keep a straight thought [and] was all over the map,” Andrew Ross Sorkin, co-host of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” reported. -
Yes, a highly independent source.
What ya gonna believe, what people tell you or your lying eyes?
We all know where Biden is cognitively at right now. You can try to polish a turd, but it's still a turd.

If your eyes and ears haven’t confirmed what the CEOs are saying , they’re lying to you.
You really going to die on the “Trump doesn’t meander all over the place when he speaks publicly’ hill?
How many videos do you want? I’m even willing to plan to show you one prospectively so no cherry picking occurs.

i have said numerous times that President Biden is impaired. And I agree that President Trump has a better mental capacity than President Biden, but that bar is so so so low as to make me laugh.

What a sad place we're at when we're arguing about which geezer is less impaired
Only in the current context I suppose. Otherwise they'd just be two geezers who can afford pretty good memory care.

Good question...

“[Thirteen] boxes or containers contained documents with classification markings, and in all, over one hundred unique documents with classification markings…were seized. Certain of the documents had colored cover sheets indicating their classification status. (Emphasis added.) See, e.g., Attachment F (redacted FBI photograph of certain documents and classified cover sheets recovered from a container in the ‘45 office’).”
The DOJ’s clever wordsmithing, however, did not accurately describe the origin of the cover sheets. In what must be considered not only an act of doctoring evidence but willfully misleading the American people into believing the former president is a criminal and threat to national security, agents involved in the raid attached the cover sheets to at least seven files to stage the photo.
Classified cover sheets were not “recovered” in the container, contrary to Bratt’s declaration to the court. In fact, after being busted recently by defense attorneys for mishandling evidence in the case, Bratt had to fess up about how the cover sheets actually ended up on the documents.

Trump meanders. It's nothing new. Especially at rallies, where he's speaking for extended periods it happens.
But Jesus, you're gonna compare that to a man who occasionally doesn't know what planet he's on?
