To be fair, he probably does know more than most politicians about many issues such as taxes, construction, visas, and other topics related to his various companies. I know he said "more than anyone on earth" and such, which obviously isn't true.

Also I very much think Trump has an incredibly bright and quick mind. Probably better than most in Washington. His ability to remember details and switch topics has been impressive to watch over the years.

I don't buy it. I don't think details are his thing. He doesn't come across that way, to me at least.

Name me one President that could do a one-hour press conference off the top of his head, taking questions from all comers?

You may or may not like the answers, and occasionally Trump might get a fact wrong, but I can't remember anybody else in my lifetime who could do that. Clinton? Clinton could come close.

Being able to talk about things isn't the same as knowing lots of details. He isn't a big expert on lots of things as he claims. He knows enough to be able to talk about stuff. That's not what 'knowing more than anybody else' about a subject means.

And he frequently goes meandering off on some weird stream-of-consciousness thing down some tributary or other. Don't get me wrong, I do that too, and I see people roll their eyes, which generally stops me. Failing that, my wife tells me to shut up. I don't think it stops him.

I remember reading stories about Fidel Castor of Cuba giving these 8 hour speeches. I can only imagine how boring it must have been to pretend to be interested.

What both Trump and Castro really needed was somebody to tell him when to STFU.

I suspect a lot of blokes in these positions of power don't have one of those. It's like somebody saying 'Do you really need another drink?'

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, but figured this forum thread was a good place.

                  QUOTE
Donald Trump Challenges Joe Biden and Rupert Murdoch to Mental Acuity Tests: ‘Nobody Will Even Come Close to Me’

Trump then challenged a number of people, including “Rupert Murdoch & Sons, Biden, and WSJ heads” to take their own mental acuity tests so they can compare scores — a match-up that he expects to win. He added, “I will name the place and the test, and it will be a tough one. Nobody will come even close to me.”

The former president added a physical dimension to his offer as well. He concluded, “We can also throw some physical activity into it. I just won the Senior Club Championship at a big golf club, with many very good players.

I would pay good money to watch this.

Not a lot of money, of course, but it would be good and probably clean.

                    Probably.
