It costs nothing to send out a million emails.

It costs next to nothing to set up a website.

It takes almost no effort to do either.

Personally, I love the ragged Social Security logo.

At work we are constantly being sent bogus phishing attempts set up the company that we're supposed to report. One of my engineers constantly gets taken in by them, and they're generally pretty obvious. I do wonder about him sometimes....

Ironically, I fell for an actual phish which was an attachment allegedly sent by a customer. It turned out his company had been hacked.

        I was only joking

I get at least a few dozen of these per day now.

It is surprising that the grammar is still so bad.

These must be some really stupid criminals to not have figured this out by now.

This was always a easy clue. But I wonder if they will start using things like Chat GPT to improve their writings?

It's amazing to me how many people on FB get taken in by the "post this on your FB wall to indicate that you do not allow them permission..." There's variants of this - and they've been around for at least a decade. I would have thought that ever sentient person who has been on FB for more than a couple of years would know that this is a scam. Still, I find that once or twice a month some person gets taken in. I posted a note to someone that it is a scam - and provided a citation indicating that it was a scam. He then asked why someone would post it, because he thought he was an attentive and diligent person for falling for it. I told him it was a good way to identify gullible people - you know, the kind of people who should be targeted for scams.

I’m starting to see the ‘nametest’ and ‘wow’ quizzes that seem perfectly designed to steal passwords.

Hadn’t seen them for quite a while, then just recently they reappeared.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.
