It's been a weird year

There's a reason the storm in the Gulf will spin up to a Cat 3 so fast...
Now...We desperately need a rain. My BIL is in the cone center and he's had around 40 inches already this year, which is trending higher than average for them. I can't get any and he's getting waaay too much.
And back in the early spring, I had corn freeze in the field.
Been a weird year.

We're going to have more than one. This will be a Cat 2, maybe a Cat 3.
BTW, Katrina made Louisiana landfall on 8/29, as a Cat 4. Billion Dollar Betsy (Cat 4) was on 9/9. Camille (Cat 5) was on 8/17. Rita (Cat 3) was on 9/24.
If (big IF) we get a nice depression in the right part of the Gulf, without a significant wind shear, it's katy bar the door. It's the right time of the year for a big storm and the Gulf can provide the energy.
