Anyway, getting back to the OP.
A lot of time and money has been spent on implementing the UKCA certification mark. Now, the UK government is basically just walking away from it, and essentially allowing Brussels dictate what can and cannot be sold in the UK.
It's unbelievable.

@Doctor-Phibes How big a difference is there (was there) between the two.
I would think that UK biggest trade partner is Europe and the Europe would want any imports to meet their regualations.

There was absolutely no difference between the UKCA regulations and EU regulations. At least for the work I do. What there was was a completely new government bureaucracy which forced manufacturers to get UKCA approval on top of what they already had for EU approval. In addition, certification bodies needed to seek accreditation to be able to provide the UK certification.
Removing the UKCA certification isn't a bad idea. It was a stupid idea. Beyond stupid.
The point is, the UK isn't operating independently of the EU, as was claimed during Brexit. They still have to follow all of the EU laws. Except now, they have no influence.

What does UKCA stand for?
I keep thinking it may be a curse word.It should be, but it means UK Conformity Assessed.
Unlike CE, which means Chinese Export.

You can't spell Triumph without Trump.
In England we famously had King Cnut failing to overturn the inevitable , and you in turn had something remarkably similar

Never heard of a Trump motorcycle. Must be a cheap foreign built knock off.

They're the kind that make a lot of noise but can't really take you anywhere you want to go.

@Doctor-Phibes obviously a photoshop.
If it had been a real photo, he would have been wearing a helmet and riding a trike.
You know, something like this.
Or this...
Or this...

Phibes, you were always willing to explain the issues during brexit. But isn't at least some of the blame for the issues you now present due to a weak House? They seem so namby-pamby compared to the good old days.
Unfortunately, like everybody else, I haven't been paying attention to brexit-related issues as much as I should have, haven't watched Prime Minister's Questions in a long time, other than brief glimpses. -

Unfortunately, like everybody else, I haven't been paying attention to brexit-related issues as much as I should have, haven't watched Prime Minister's Questions in a long time, other than brief glimpses. The real issue for Brexit is that Britain being independent of Europe is a fantasy.
Britain's mostly moved on, which explains why this latest debacle isn't even being reported. Most people in the UK don't understand what CE Marking even means, but as long as they keep the pound and buy beer in pints, they think they're living free and independent of Brussels.
Politically, the Conservatives have reached the end of the line. It would take a miracle for them to win the next election. The real question is whether there'll need to be a coalition or not, since Labour can't really hope for a majority in Scotland.

@George-K I wish I could say that I was somehow smart with this, but that would not be true.
Just using a software called "Dream Studio", and you enter a photo suggestion. For this one it was "President Trump riding a trike. Realistic and highly detailed"
For the below one, it was asking to make him look tougher.
