I had a root canal the other day on one of my two front teeth. The pain is gone, the tooth feels fine. The dentist says I should get a crown so as to protect the tooth instead of it possibly breaking and therefore needing an extraction and implant. Anyway.......I'd imagine the quality of crowns on such visible teeth are very good, but I can't help but imagine the crown will look weird. The dentist did say it's common for a patient to get the other (of the 2 front teeth) crowned as well so that they match.

Get a grill. It'll be distinctive and the kid's will think you're cool.

But, srsly, what he says makes sense. It's quite the art to match color, so it might be obvious is you only capped one.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Hmm. Matching is an art, as George says, but they are very good at it. That said, it doesn't make much sense to me to crown an otherwise healthy tooth. I think I would try the one and put the onus on your dentist to match it exactly.

Thanks, I'll talk with the dentist when I go back in. Good feedback.

            So it's the grille, right?

Just do one. If you don't like the match, make them redo it. The matching technique has been near perfect for well over 30 years.

True, although my thought is over the years as teeth change (position, color) subtly... eventually the other tooth will look different. Who knows, I don't like the thought of any of this because this was a bit of a random toothache that has snowballed into dental work I didn't expect for another 30 years LOL
