And the further this goes, the worse some people like Fauxi look. I hope the fleeting glory and respect was worth it.

Nah, I still think our public health officials mostly did quite well on the whole, except the anti-vax, anti-mask, anti-social distancing lot which makes up the minority among public health officials.

Your opinion vs facts…
Seven states refused to shutdown or issue stay at home orders - Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
Arkansas age adjusted COVID Mortality was 385 (per 100,000). Ohio (one of the states lauded for their early intervention and shutdown) was at 380. Iowa - 298, Nebraska - 272, North and South Dakota were at 377 and 369. Utah was 231.
Their numbers were consistent with other states that did button up tight. There were no indications that their policies posed a higher threat or risk…
