I wasn't laughing at the possibility of a civil war, but at the idea that the main reason for it was domestic US political

Prigozhin is a dead man walking. At best he’ll be brought to Moscow in a cage. There is a precedent for that.

I would hope that simple possession would not enable one to use the weapons.
