    https://www.forbes.com/sites/petercohan/2023/06/13/after-flushing-10-billion-why-wework-is-not-working/

WeWork's credit issuer rating is about to be downgraded to "D" (for "default"), and its second CEO is quitting. The article reads a bit like an autopsy report.

      Bad timing.

I have had the opportunity to use a product called Workday recently. Horrible software. It should go into the same ash heap as WeWork.

I thought they went out of business a long time ago. Didn't the founder have some sort of scandal?

It's a matter of perspective ... the founder was paid $1 Billion by the investors to walk away after he burnt $40 Billion of investors' money running the business into the ground. Scandal, or Legend?!

WeWork was built around a model that was a great idea, pre-pandemic. On-demand, shared office space, for flexible work, etc. The pandemic changed all that with remote work options, so none of this is surprising.

We've been using it for a few years, and at this point it's the main management tool I have. It does a great deal, but it's one of the most unintuitive interfaces I've ever had to work with.

Exactly my experience. Horrible design, way too many screens to get a task done.

One thing ours has is a pension calculator tool.

For some reason, I seem to be using it more and more frequently.

Recently getting acquainted with it. Holy balls what a horrible system.

Crap like Workday pisses me off to no end. Plenty of shitty software out there with plenty of jobs calling for experience with it.

So much of this "modern" technology stack bullshit software that has a life-cycle measured in 3-5 years, has a lot to do with me not finding anything out there. We built a software solution that our users love to use, has been constantly updated with modern tech for over 26 years. To do anything but goes against everything I know. I refuse to work with or on shitty software.

I need to get out there and turn into a salesperson for my own product. Cant' afford to hire one, can't afford to not hire one. So I guess that make me the "perfect" candidate.

The problem started with Peoplesoft and SAP. They tried to make software that will be all things to all organizations. They end up being cumbersome, expensive and don't really do any one thing very well.
