I've always believed that sex changes were suicidality by other means. Now I understand the statistics around these people, and indeed, suicide is rampant. I doubt a childhood sex change helps. A permanent solution to a temporary problem, as they say.

This is likely to increase the Detrans numbers as well. The trans activists are going to blow their lid and yell “Genocide”, but a lot of these kids that have been taking this crap and those parents that were foolishly pushed into this are going to start to ask why and start to realize what’s been done to them. Expect the lawsuit numbers to increase.

In the least scientific proof evah... I did hear an expert on the subject say that suicide rates generally are the same for pre-op and post-op kids with gender dysphoria.

I've read that they're actually higher post op. But, the point is that they're not any lower.

A friend of mine, a long time ago, commented that so many of these "dysmophias" are considered mental health issues (anorexia, anyone?). Why isn't this also treated as a mental health issue?

Media/culture pressure. Almost like there is a cult to see how tolerant you are of others... I've said before in 100 years either folks will look back and be like "wait, you thought men could become women, kids could have surgeries, etc?" and think, wow what a stupid time, who could've ever supported that? Or they'll think, what luddites were against acceptance of transexual rights?

I"m not entirely confident we'll have recognizable human societies in 100 years. The trajectory of technology is exponential, and we're living through the only time that's happened to humans. I don't think anything can be taken for granted. I've also always had a soft spot for the "doomsday argument", which posits that every human is born randomly in the order of all humans who will ever be born. Which means, if you're a self-aware human, you're probably born when most humans are going to be born. Which means, an ever expanding human race on Earth or otherwise, is not probably in the cards. Or I'd have been born in that near-infinite time, instead. No, I just happened to be born during the human numbers boom, and during exponential technology increase. Hmm.

I have no issue with tolerance. I do have an issue with endorsement and normalization of something that is not by any stretch of the imagination normal.

This seems like a really sensible decision on the part of the NHS. They had been moving in this direction for a while, I believe. I also think there was only one place in the uk that was doing this.

                          I was only joking

Let's hope so. Some of these medical charlatans need to be sued into oblivion.

I still can’t wrap my head around what this looks like in the future. I do like to believe that as a whole we will see countries and societies put an end to puberty blockers and prescribing 12 year olds to a lifetime of HRT. I also think you will see more and more detransitioners, and a decade from now those numbers will effectively kill off most but not all of the trans movement. I think you will also see a slew of lawsuits against trans medical clinics and healthcare providers that started the journey… But how far does it go or should it go? Are the schools going to be cleared of the idiot teachers and administrators that promoted this crap to kids? It feels like an entire generation of teachers have been brainwashed with this crap, and I don’t think that goes away. Beyond that, you also have schools that feel it’s permissible, good, and right to keep information health and wellness information from the kids parents, placing the teachers above the parents in decisions involving their children. This is such an abhorrent breach of the trust and the compact between parents and education that I honestly can’t see how that is fixed.

And what about parents? Yeah, it seems that a lot of them were duped by this whole “Dead Daughter - Living Son” argument, but a lot of them weren’t. A lot of them rejoiced in the mental and physical disfigurement of their kids. Do we see criminal charges filed? Custody removed?

This is a huge frigging mess without any good path forward.
