I saw this video yesterday. It is a shot of a Syrian "refugee" in Paris. He attacks several people, including children as young as three, with a knife. Injuries are life-threatening.

How frightening and surreal. The jogger going by without awareness, the guy escaping down the slide, the somewhat calmness of the attacker, the braveness of the guy trying to push him away with his backpack. If you've ever entered the NSFW videos in redditland, the severity of a knife attack can be much faster, quieter, and deadlier than you'd ever imagine. I saw a video of a fight in a mall where one person took a quick swipe with a knife and the other guy fighting collapsed in a pool of blood within 30 seconds.

Which is why you shoot the guy with the knife once he passes the 15 foot mark.
That's also why you must have situational awareness. If a guy is within 20 feet of you, knife in hand and you have to suddenly react, you're getting stabbed. Repeatedly. Even if you have a concealed handgun.
