What are your plans for the day?
-
I’m making up for a rainy Memorial Day
-
Don’t worry, I am spreading out the rub
-
That looks great.
Today, I should probably get some work done.
I'll cook a Costco rack of lamb for lunch, in the air fryer. First time I'll ever use an air fryer for lamb. Seasoning will probably be salt, pepper, and a prime rib rub.
This evening we'll continue our mulching project. We removed all the fungus infested black dyed mulch, and we're replacing it with natural cedar mulch. Only $3/bag at home depot.
I'll use the old mulch to fill the bottom portion of my garden bed, after I move it to a more sunny spot further down on the wall of the house, this winter. I figure it'll turn into soil eventually. Then I'll have to get rid of all the heavy clay that's currently at the bottom of the bed. Our trash company doesn't take it, but we can smuggle a bag in with every load.
-
I've picked a bushel of snap beans and added a few cucumbers to the pile. MIL will can the beans and make pickles today. I'm taking the wife to play for a funeral, picking up canine medicine, taking the wife to the neurosurgeon and I'll be doing some grocery shopping.
Then I'll come home and get to work....
-
@LuFins-Dad I'm hungry now.
Work this morning, later this afternoon we are picking up some caterpillar habitats to watch them turn into monarchs, then heading to the 5 year old's tee ball game with fast food for dinner.

Please, no pics of you rubbing the meat.
I have to strengthen my fingers, don’t you know…
-
The run? Brown sugar, white sugar, course ground pepper, paprika, ancho, garlic powder, onion powder, and rosemary.
I was surprised at the Rosemary…
I’ve had the Weber at 260 - 250 the entire day. I am rather impressed with myself about that…
-
-
I still have another hour or so to go…

The meat's starting to pull away from the bone. You might want to do a tenderness check. Do you have one baby back and one spare rack? The spare will definitely take that hour. Baby back might not.

Three baby back. The rack at the front closest to the hot zone is pulling away but still a lot of collagen. It will likely take 30 minutes or so. I could crutch it and it will probably be fine, but I really prefer just low and slow, even if it takes more time.
The other two will likely need a bit more. Probably another hour, still.
-
- Gym
- Finalize agenda for our board meeting next week
- Rather important meeting with a major retail pharmacy company
- take dry cleaning in
- watch family guy episodes with the boy.

@LuFins-Dad Don't forget to rotate them so they share closest to the heat.

take dry cleaning in
We've been with the same dry cleaners since the early 1980s. They pick up and deliver. I'm sure I'm paying more for the convenience, but, boy is it worth it.

I pulled three ears today, so those will get boiled. My first two rows are alllmost ready...

@George-K Mine would too but I pass it all the time or just walk there in 10m.
What I love about NYC is there’s fluff and folds all over the place. Not so much here. I would gladly pay to relieve my bride of that chore. I don’t need dry cleaning much anymore.
