You and I both know it's a perversion of Justice. Yeah, he's a nut case, but there is nothing in his case that warrants this kind of sentence.

I can only hope that one day you understand the meaning of fairness under the law. Because without blind justice you might shed tears over a son's grave, when all hell breaks loose. For it will. A republic cannot work without citizens who believe that their Justice system and elections are fair, and that the government is not rigged against them

Maybe the sentence was too long. I didn’t see the evidence and I don’t know the sentencing guidelines.

Certainly my intuition is that the Trump cultists who beat cops should have the harshest sentences.

I'm happy for the left that they can reach an emotional place where they are tough on crime. It can be a long wait for white conservatives to act up, so the left must become impatient to express their will towards retributive punishment of those they hate.

              Education is extremely important.

Some people make things happen, some people watch what happens and some people wonder what the hell just happened.

I look at things in longer terms than most. I see an erosion of the morality of this country and that bothers me. Since I do see law as codified morality, I see a weakening of the law, primarily through "rights" not found in the Constitution and an acceptance of extreme immorality that destroys society. I also see the government, particularly the bureaucratic side of it, becoming more biased than it has ever been.

Much of the beauty of the American Experiment has been the notion of citizens working together, sometimes even voting against their individual self-interests if it helps the entire citizenry. If people start to believe their vote does not count, if they believe their government is not fair and stacked against certain demographics...Well, sooner or later the pot will boil over.

                It always does.

The revolution will happen. It's just a matter of when.

Do not be one of the people who wonder what just happened...

I just dont see how there is this conspiracy against the Jan 6 people. As far as I know, they were all tried before either a jury or judge, and found guilty. They were then sentenced. To assume that all juries/judges are political on all these is just impossible.

I can see one eventually happening over wealth inequality maybe. But not politics or justice.

Things were way crazier in the 1960s I think, way more corrupt in the 1870s, and so forth… the country keeps moving forward.

Sadly IMO you are right regarding the erosion of morality and self reliance but I’d also argue a slow march towards liberalism is inevitable in a free society in such a large country (geographically and population), and one with a heterogeneous immigrant culture not a homogeneous one where morality norms are more easily agreed upon.

Trump’s refusal to accept his election loss and the resulting actions at the Capitol is substantially more of a risk to our country than a stern sentence for one of the leaders of the Capitol invasion.

I like the term revolution. It's not haughty and the word is understood by all.

Then I guess we have to agree to disagree. After all, what you call a revolution, I consider a colonial revolt.
