DeSantis is officially in

Looking forward to watching when I can. From what I heard it was a VERY different announcement with him taking questions and I heard that he impressed the hell out of some people I knew that were on the fence.
-
From what I know of him, I am very much in the DeSantis camp for 2024. That being said, the primary system is not set up to help him. Let's say Trump has a core 35% of GOP voters that'll follow him into
jailorbankruptcyor...ok let's get unrealistic, off a cliff. It's not easy for DeSantis to just get the other 65%. That other 65% is fractured....one DeSantis policy might attract 20% but piss off 30%, and so on and so forth.Ron's best chance is for Trump to be criminally sentenced for something.
Oh @mark it looks like another RON will be running!

"Botched"
Many have commented on how the rollout was not well-executed. Servers were overwhelmed. I seem to remember something like that happening during the Obama administration. What was it now...
Anyhow among the critics is Biden.
And someone responded, "Yeah, it works because nobody clicks on it."

Yup. All these media outlets criticizing the rollout because the servers were overwhelmed.
Two points:
- A LOT of people were interested.
- There's no such thing as bad publicity. He's probably getting more press now than he would have had things gone smoothly. Come to think of it, this is probably a Musk/DeSantis/Evil Professor plot for attention. 3-D chess, man!
-
For Vox and Politico, it WAS disastrous. One million people and no corporate media massaging the message. DeSantis and voters. That was it. That is devastating to the power of the media outlets.
-
Some of the reactions are quite odd. It does seem like Trump has lost Fox.

Yeah, but let’s not ignore the fact that Lame Donald’s response was incoherent….

It sounds a bit like the complaints about all those people abandoning Disney/New York/etc. because it's over-crowded. As with Obama, the servers were over-whelmed because so many people are interested.

That's sort of what I meant. If the rollout were a yawn-inducing event, this would not have happened.
People are interested, and with the "botched" hashtag getting traction, he's going to have even more eyes. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a Streisand effect (probably not), or a "no such thing..."
