It will be interesting to see if he actually runs for re-eelction. And if he does, will the Republicans put someone to go against him in the primary. I think that if he does, they will and he will lose.

He will not resign, and he won't run for re-election. He has about 18 months in his term, and he can play kick-the-can until the end of his term.

And he can continue to collect his $190K salary.

iirc, his seat was a pretty safe Democrat seat until this election, and he got elected by nobody really knowing who he was, etc.

The only way he can lose his position in the House is if the House elects to eject him, and that's not going to happen because politics.

        The devil you know......

Honestly, I would not be surprised if the Democrats ran him again and won.

I mean, ferchrissakes, we're looking down the barrel of Trump-Biden 24. Is this more unlikely? Other than his peccadilloes, has Santos represented his district adequately? Hell, they keep re-electing AOC. We are so far through the looking glass at this point that conventional wisdom is relatively useless.

Charges came out. Lots of felonies. 5 counts of wire fraud, each can get you 20 years in club Fed. 3 counts of money laundering, same. Other charges too.

            Only non-witches get due process.

Have to say, am I the only one to wonder if it is rather
unusual that the DOJ moved so quickly? Think about it. Before
November, no one had heard of him and his history of difficulties with
the truth was not on anyone's radar, even when he lost the
election in his first time. And now, within a matter of 14 months they think they
really have a case against him.

I doubt it has anything to do with motivation. You think the people investigating Trump are any less motivated?

I think it has to do with how difficult it is to execute the information collection. In this case it's all documents they subpoena from banks. Not a lot of sleuthing who the witnesses might be, figuring out whom to ask about what, new leads, etc.

And honestly, even for a pathological liar, what a dumb move to run for public office and bring all this attention to your illegal ways.

                                      He's on this forum, right?

Maybe, once he's released from custody, he'll fill us in?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I am not really charged for fraud or whatever. All of these are mere smokescreens so I can go into a double secret undercover mission to save millions of American lives from imminent danger. All these fake charges will be dropped as soon as my mission succeed. I know all of you, my supporters, love and care about me, so I just want to let you know the truth so you won’t worry too much. Wish me luck!

In America today, you're innocent until proven guilty.
