Finish the job! The MAGAts must be crushed!

Gird your loins, screw your courage to the sticking point and open your wallets to buy off the MSM!

To the walls! To the walls, my psychopaths, my gender-confused allies and the spaced-out soccer moms! To the walls!

For no God, aborted babies and St. Hillary!

    Huzzah!
    Huzzah!
    Huzzah!

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

The whole message is platitudes and demagoguery. No accomplishments (of "The Job") are mentioned. Just lots of "Look out for the OTHER GUYS!" and empty slogans.

Are you really surprised? LOL. I would say that 85% of what politicians say is "against"the other side, rather than "for" their side.

This put an end to the democrat Tucker celebration.

Who is going to tell Mr. Biden that he is feeble?

I think the dem bench (at least the known folks) is so shallow they'd rather place their money on Biden/Harris who won in 2020 than an unknown. That being said, he is old as fuck and a campaign is only going to speed up his decline. In the off chance he wins, I could see him stepping down after a year or two "for health reasons" and giving Kamala the office.

A mid-40s DeSantis is going to seem so young, fresh, and energetic, compared to great granpda joe.

              Biden listed his accomplishments...

I agree with 100%, especially since President Trump is the leading Republican person.

President Biden has really done nothing in the first two years, but as many people on this forum board have said (and I agree with), most people have short memories. It is still 20 month until the next election. I think inflation will be down, job market will be good, etc.

AND, President Trump. He has not done anything to change peoples minds who voted against him in the last election.

If it is these two people, it will again be an election of people voting for who they dislike the least. And right now, the results would be the same.

I had a relative who was wildly excited when Biden was running the first time. I tried moderating that excitement with little impact. I visited a couple of months ago - and Joe's managed to accomplish what I was unable to - that is the image was great as long as one wasn't actually listening to him. President Biden benefited from the pandemic and not having to really campaign. The less he says, the better he looks, but in a real campaign that may not work so well.

DJT's ownership of his base may give him more latitude in moderating his campaigning before the primaries. DJT will likely have a stronger running mate to enthuse the base.

                                      Biden’s Quiet Re-election Strategy

We don't need no stinking president:

Strange as it may sound, the American government can function without a healthy president. The U.S. marched toward victory in World War II while Franklin Roosevelt was ailing in 1944 and 1945.

And then, even if he's mentally not up-to-snuff, it'll be OK.

Four decades later, the government managed its relationship with a teetering Soviet Union while Ronald Reagan’s mental capacities slipped. In each case, White House aides, Cabinet secretaries and military leaders performed well despite the lack of a fully engaged leader.

The horror! Voters might be worried about his age and then the UNTHINKABLE might happen.

f enough voters are turned off by the idea of a president who would turn 86 in office, Republicans might win full control of the federal government in 2024 — and Donald Trump might return to the White House.

I know that it may seem crass for Democrats to worry more about partisan politics than the mental acuity of the country’s most powerful person. But it’s not entirely irrational.

                                      Ah, the gaffes are A-OK!

At 80, Biden can be an unsteady public performer. He occasionally uses the wrong word or fails to summon a name. Some of these habits are not new, to be sure. Biden has a stutter, which can make it seem as if he can’t remember words when in fact he is struggling to enunciate them. He has also long been known for saying things that he probably shouldn’t.

“Biden living up to his gaffe-prone reputation,” read a Times headline in 2008, when he was only 65. That same year, Slate magazine wrote, “He misspeaks so often, it’s hardly news — and hardly damaging.”

                                      Hardly damaging. OK...

How to fix? Simple: Spend more time speaking!

Of course, there would be a simple way for Biden to address the concerns: He could spend more time speaking in public now and demonstrate his vigor. Instead, he and his aides have chosen the opposite approach.

                                      The Quiet Strategy.

Is that where he whispers into the microphone?

News conferences and interviews are irrelevant because they might expose his inability to think on his feet.

Michael Shear, a White House correspondent for The Times, says that Biden’s aides are unapologetic about avoiding interviews and news conferences. “They see these traditions as outdated and unimportant,” Michael told me. “They say that traditional media don’t have clout, and they think that there are many other ways that he can better present himself.”

So, to reinforce the good job, the Times quotes....a Democratic Party official:

“The man has done a good job,” Elaine Kamarck, a political scientist and Democratic Party official recently said on The Run-Up, a Times politics podcast. “So everybody’s sort of saying, ‘Okay, yeah, he’s old. Big deal.’ There are advantages that come with age, as well as the downsides.”

And, in the very last paragraph, the Times finally, finally, gets around to asking the question:

If Biden is as energetic and effective as his aides insist, why does he spend so little time publicly engaging with other people?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
