I took the tour of the German submarine at the museum in Chicago.

Das Boot is probably the best submarine movie ever made. If you haven't watch it.
The TV series is very good as well, but it's not as much focused on submariners' lives as the politics and shore-side events of WWII.
Oh, and of course, Red October is a great film, though I wonder (not really) how accurate it was in its depiction of submarine life.
@taiwan_girl , I haven't toured the U505 in years and years. I should revisit.

If you get the chance, compare the 505 to a U.S. WW2 fleet sub - Gato, Balao or Tench class. I think even the Gato class is a better sub, although it doesn't dive as deep. If you served on an American sub, you got better food, laundry facilities and....wait for it.....Air Conditioning.
