Not to be offensive, but I know our old PianoJerome did a full transition a few years ago to become Samantha. Haven’t seen updates in a few years though.

I can’t imagine being happy after doing something like that, but I can clearly imagine the suicidal unhappiness that motivated it. Human happiness being completely relative and directional, I suppose being less suicidally unhappy will feel like true happiness. For a while. But then the equilibrium will contain living life as a wildly objectionable looking person.

He could probably still be a handsome dude and he's admittedly talented, but his head is fucked up. I find that sad. Trans people have mostly miserable, short lives.

Jolly, I am curious. Do you think that transgender condition is a real thing? In other words, there are some people who cannot be "cured" of transgender? They 100+% believe that they are really a girl (if they are a guy) and vice verse.
(Just to note, I do not really know any transgender people. I have met quite a few - there are quite a few in thailand, and pretty much, no-one cares. General attitude is live and let live. But, I am sure there is somewhat of a stigma about being one. They are sometimes referred to as "women of the third gender")

I think transgenderism is primarily a fad, especially of confused or weak-minded people. And rare. I think M&J were right and homosexuality is only around 3% or so. I do think that some people swing both ways and that's not as common as some think.
I also think that monogamous relations between one man and one woman form the bedrock of Western society, and we experiment with the institution at our peril.
And I have a Victorian view that thinks that man is better than his animal cousins, in that the human mind can ultimately control man's actions.

Nowadays, in our more enlightened state, many people (who are admittedly quite possibly confused or desperate for attention) meet with others who feel the same way where they can trade stories about the transformation that occurred, how they suddenly realised they were living a lie, and by golly, you know what, they voted for him - and what's more they liked it!
Call me too understanding if you will, but who are we to condemn them?
