@rainman, here are a few pictures from DPRK. Posted some of them before, so apologize for the repeats. I can post more if you like.

I was there for trade/development/diplomacy, which I guess are all part of the same thing. LOL

@George-K There is one "scene" on the ones I went to where it is performed by kindergartners. Amazing to have probably 5000 5-6 year old kids performing in perfect unison. Only in DPRK I think. LOL

It is amazing, thousands of participants, and not even one called in sick that day!

TG, were you able to walk around or go for a drive, all by yourself? I assume not, but maybe you could get away with some things given your position? Did you ever get an opportunity to talk to some north Koreans about what their lives were like?

Wow, great pictures. Here are some really ignorant questions if you or anyone know the answers:

                          1. Is it difficult to travel to/from the country (for non-US citizens, I suppose)?
                          2. Are you allowed to take pictures? I figured it was restricted.
                          3. Do citizens know how isolated they are?
                          4. Seems like an alien planet. Not a question, just so unique in 2023 that there's an entire country that seems like it's cut off from modern times.
                          5. Can you buy groceries and supplies easily there? Order things by mail?
                          6. Odd question, I wonder are marriages normal or are they coordinated and/or even borderline incestuous?

A few weeks ago we were having dinner with a guy from south korea, and I asked him his thoughts on north korea. Apparently word on the street in south korea is that the north korean women are the most beautiful. That's the first thing that popped into his head, about north korea.
