Apparently Lori Lightfoot is pre-excusing her loss because of...
...you guessed it, racism and sexism.
Funny how the city that elected her four years ago became racist, homophobic and sexist in four short years.
"I'm a Black woman and, let's not forget, some folks frankly don't support us in leadership roles," Lightfoot told The New Yorker recently.

Also amazing that it became that racist and homophobic under her administration…

That will end when people like Lori end it.

Lightfoot is out. The runoff will be between Vallas and Johnson.

She’s a complete failure. Name one good thing she did.

Gonna be an interesting runoff.
Vallas has been a Chicago fixture forever. Former chair (president?) of the Chicago Public Schools. Johnson is a VERY progressive guy whose current status is Chairman of the Crook County Board.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Johnson win, but Vallas would be the better mayor.

Lightfoot: : “I am a black woman — let’s not forget,” she told the outlet. “Certain folks, frankly, don’t support us in leadership roles."
She forgot to say that she's a black LESBIAN woman. I mean, c'mon Mayor, if you're going to play the victim, at least have the good sense to check ALL the boxes.
Is "certain people," a racist comment?

I'm just so tired of all the racism. It's all I can do to get out of bed in the morning and vote Democrat.

It's hard to believe that the most powerful black lesbian in Chicago could consider herself a victim.
But there was a time where the most powerful man in the world considered himself a victim of the same racism.

“A few months ago they said they didn’t know who I was. Well, if you didn’t know, now you know,” Johnson said. He thanked the unions that supported him and gave a special shout-out to his wife, telling the crowd, “Chicago, a Black woman will still be in charge.”
I wonder how many generations America will have to survive before this skin color fetish seems like a bizarre anachronism.
