China approved 106GW of new coal power plants last year alone.

That’s almost half the total capacity of the entire United States (217gw)

Focus on scrubbing and carbon sequestration. India is doing the same thing.

Not sure I would want to work in a Chinese mine. Video of one collapsing recently, killing 50+.

I wouldn't want to work in any mine, anywhere.

@Jolly The point I’m making really does apply only to China.

                    Different scales:

                    https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/China/India/Energy

India’s population is growing. China’s population is shrinking but its industrial energy demand is still formidable.

Yes, there are hundreds of posts with various experts debunking this famous picture.

They are, of course, all defending their entrenched position, no matter what.

Let's just take the simple approach and look at the water.

And we all know it goes up and down.

Plymouth rock - a/k/a American Stonehenge.

I'm sure there are worse tourist attractions, but I'll be buggered if I can think of one.

It is indeed. There are very few dug foundations where my family is from. The houses are anchored into the rock by cables, much like antennas or utility poles.
