Woke up this morning to see bloodstains on the bottom edge of my wedge pillow. Over an inch in diameter, so a fair amount of blood. Neither MFR nor I can find anything that could bleed like that and not leave some trace. It'd be right around where my neck and shoulder meet.

Any ideas? Can skin tags bleed?

Weird, and potentially worrisome… I wouldn’t assume that it couldn’t be from somewhere a little above and below. Did you check your scalp?

I don't. Yeah, and I'm very aware of any bumps that arise there. I'm not particularly worried, I just want to identify the source.

          Sorry you’re having this scare.
Confirmed that it’s really blood and not food/sauce/wine stain?

Could it be from one of the cats?

                BTW, yes, skintags can bleed.

No, that’s the weird thing. If it was nose it would show up in cpap nose pillows. I’m sure it’s not gums because I both floss and water floss every day - no bleeding and gums are all healthy pink and not sensitive. I’m thinking skin tags, but I’d think there would be some trace on the skin.

A bug bite would not produce this much blood.

Is it possible that you had a spontaneous tympanic membrane (ear drum) rupture?

                                I believe that's a thing.

Speak up. I can’t hear you.

Possible, but it would seem it’s too low on the pillow stack. I use a wedge with two pillows up at the top. No blood on the upper pillows the blood is at the point where the wedge meets the sheet.
