I read about that but hadn’t seen the video. Damn.

    Only non-witches get due process.

Yeah, I read about it as well with some top-down animations.

I assume there's some perspective foreshortening by the camera, but, yeah...damn.

Close call for sure. I would expect an investigation by the FAA.

That kind of situation was common at the airport where I worked.

But that was private planes, not commercial jets.

ATC messed up, he cleared them both when they were too close.

Then ATC told Southwest to abort the takeoff. I assume Southwest was unable to abort, he was already committed to takeoff.

Nice job by both pilots to fly the plane and save the discussion for later.

I believe that video is a flight simulator recreation? Could be wrong.

The ATC guy has to have been fired. I’ve known a few people who have gone for the ATC exam and certification and it’s incredible how many people fail out. No room for error or incorrect answers during the tests.

Glad it was a clear day, if not the FedEx wouldn’t have seen Southwest.

                Think you're right.

The event took place on Saturday, February 4, at approximately 6:40 a.m. in relative darkness, as sunrise was not until 7:20 a.m.

According to the FAA, FedEx Express Flight 1432, a Boeing 767, was cleared to land on Runway 18 Left at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS). The clearance was received and acknowledged when the 767 was several miles away from the airport.

Visibility at the time was 1/8 of a mile, which might help explain how they got so close (within 75 feet).
