Be ye thankful for boomers, lest ye not exist.
Neither would Costco, Starbucks, Wallyworld, True Value and Sears but somehow I'm able to do without okay I'm just being an asshole at this pointyeah, that is true. At least sometimes, depending on how you define "boomer."My bio parents were right on the cusp. As am I, too, I suppose.

“We’re making airlines show you the full ticket price upfront and refund your money if your flight is canceled or delayed. We’ve reduced exorbitant bank overdrafts, saving consumers more than $1 billion a year. We’re cutting credit card late fees by 75 percent, from $30 to $8. … The idea that cable, internet and cell phone companies can charge you $200 or more if you decide to switch to another provider. Give me a break.” (excerpt from SOTU 2023)
I’d also add combating junk mail, spam email, spam text messages, spam voicemail, and spam phone call to the collection of “Important Stuff.”

I make coffee with 1 tablespoon of grounds per cup. French press, vigorously stirred for a minute before plunging.
Philistine. Aeropress or get the fuck out!
LOL! I use pretty much nothing else. When company visits, I will reach for the French Press . I do espresso with the Flair for those who prefer espresso.

I admit that I’ve been getting lazy on the coffee front lately and have been using a 5 cup drip… Used to use a French Press but our glass carafes would always break after a couple of years. Maybe it’s time I broke down for an aeropress…
No "breaking down" or breaking the bank is necessary. The Aeropress is a great value at $32

@Catseye3
It's not too late, Cats. I make Magic Oatmeal. It's made with whole milk, not water, as much brown sugar as you want, cinnamon, a bit of vanilla, and even a pat of butter on a very cold day. It's cooked with enough milk that it never becomes a glop. It's a creamy and glorious comfort and warmth dish for a winter morning. Add any other toppings you desire: fruit, a light caramel drizzle, nuts, etc.
It can also serve as a meal for any time of day when a true comfort food is needed.
Love,

MomOr...For a quick fix, use milk instead of water for any instant oatmeal packet. If it's a bit too thick, thin with a little more milk. Hot & creamy, no muss, no fuss.

Alternatively, make scrambled eggs on toast. It has a number of advantages over oatmeal, the main one being it isn't oatmeal.

I've never done that.
It sounds like a good lunch1!
(I make an omelet every now and then for lunch)

When apples are in season, and fresh from the local orchard, they get put in the Magic Oatmeal, too.
Put some butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into the pot, heat and stir until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Put diced apple chunks into the mix, and cook just a couple minutes. Add the milk and oatmeal, cook until creamy.
BTW, it's called Magic Oatmeal, because hubby loves it. This is the same man who said he hated Oatmeal for breakfast.
When you're ready for the meatloaf version of this story, let me know.
