Neither would Costco, Starbucks, Wallyworld, True Value and Sears but somehow I'm able to do without okay I'm just being an asshole at this point yeah, that is true. At least sometimes, depending on how you define "boomer."

My bio parents were right on the cusp. As am I, too, I suppose.

Bought a 100ct variety box this week for $29. Community is better and it's $38(?) for 80ct at Sam's.

But the Solimo is good enough.

LOL! I use pretty much nothing else. When company visits, I will reach for the French Press . I do espresso with the Flair for those who prefer espresso.

I admit that I’ve been getting lazy on the coffee front lately and have been using a 5 cup drip… Used to use a French Press but our glass carafes would always break after a couple of years. Maybe it’s time I broke down for an aeropress…

No "breaking down" or breaking the bank is necessary. The Aeropress is a great value at $32

I question your ability it make it. It shouldn't be soggy.

During my childhood, my stepmother (German born) didn't know how to make oatmeal. She'd do whatever to it in the cooking pot, and then when it was ready to be shifted to the eating bowls, she'd scoop up a spoonful of this gelatinous goop and hold it over the bowl until it fell off and landed with a wet-sounding glop. This could take a full 20 seconds until the horrid stuff released itself. Then she poured ice-cold milk over it. The mounds of gray oatmeal would loom up out of the milk like doughy tumors.

                        I'd have rather starved.

I have seen preparations that looked palatable, But it's too late for me.

It's not too late, Cats. I make Magic Oatmeal.

It's made with whole milk, not water, as much brown sugar as you want, cinnamon, a bit of vanilla, and even a pat of butter on a very cold day. It's cooked with enough milk that it never becomes a glop. It's a creamy and glorious comfort and warmth dish for a winter morning. Add any other toppings you desire: fruit, a light caramel drizzle, nuts, etc.

It can also serve as a meal for any time of day when a true comfort food is needed.

                        Love,

Or...For a quick fix, use milk instead of water for any instant oatmeal packet. If it's a bit too thick, thin with a little more milk. Hot & creamy, no muss, no fuss.

Alternatively, make scrambled eggs on toast. It has a number of advantages over oatmeal, the main one being it isn't oatmeal.

                              I was only joking

When apples are in season, and fresh from the local orchard, they get put in the Magic Oatmeal, too.

Put some butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into the pot, heat and stir until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Put diced apple chunks into the mix, and cook just a couple minutes. Add the milk and oatmeal, cook until creamy.

BTW, it's called Magic Oatmeal, because hubby loves it. This is the same man who said he hated Oatmeal for breakfast.

When you're ready for the meatloaf version of this story, let me know.
