I saw that in the news also, and Vice President Pence said he did not have to because he gets tested quite often along with everyone around him. He should know then that people can be showing no symptoms but still have the disease.

Just out of peer pressure I’m surprised he kept a mask off. When everyone around you is talking in a mask/muffle voice.... it’s awkward if you aren’t doing the same.

Now Pence’s staff is threatening retaliation against a reporter who tweeted that they have all been informed about the requirement to wear masks. So petty!

My guess is he wanted to look good to Trump, in particular he wanted to look not weak to Trump, and he knows Trump 'chooses not' to wear a mask.
