Could Trump drop out?

I thought I mentioned this somewhere else, but couldn't find it. Anyway, right now the odds of this happening are low but it's something I mentioned earlier would not be outside of Trump's list of options as we approach November.

Dropping out seems entirely contrary to his nature. However, a couple of little things lately give rise to the question: The photo of him drooping away from the helo with the cap crushed in his hand, and something he said very recently conceding that Biden might win and not enough people loving him, or something like that.
You never know which way he'll jump. But I don't see him quitting.

I don't think he'd drop out, although I do think he'd prefer the "Trump left" over the "Trump lost" headline.
I do think he'll close the gap, probably swap out Pence with a new VP to get some life, and hope the economy improves (with COVID decreasing) by Sept/Oct. I think he's also helped by BLM and the cancel culture lunacy associated with it.

I would think so too but Biden’s leads in the polls are increasing.
I had written off Florida as even in play after what happened in 2018.

If I was a democrat strategist I would certainly try to push the story that Trump might quit.
There are also probably lots of republicans, from 4 years ago, who still dislike Mr. Trump.
I think it's pretty easy to plant stories these days. Now is the time to make up stuff like this and see what works.

Who replaces him on the ticket if he drops out? If it's someone more electable I'd be all for it.

That's something I never would have considered, picking a new VP.
An energetic VP would or could be a plus, as Trump's stamina seems to be decreasing for whatever reason.
A clean and articulate black female (inserting Biden's perspective of Obama). Perfect! Use the Left's strategy against itself. It certainly wouldn't bother most Republicans to have a POC VP. -

LBJ didn't seek a 2nd elected term (though he finished JFK's term and was reelected for his 1st term) in the 1968 elections.

Yeah but he dropped out to avoid a loss in the primary.
