Crossed over 3,000 miles running this year a few days ago. Definitely wasn't a plan or goal, but just pretty consistently getting out there.

Probably the best shape I'll ever be in.....and no fukkin races, lol.

Still having a good time. 🙂

Wow, great job. Based on your estimate mile and 10k time the marathon estimate is way off. You could get near 3 hours and certainly qualify for Boston.

You’ve put in the miles for a marathon for sure.

Yes, Rich's 5K and 10K times are crazy. I believe my fastest 10K time was something like 55 minutes, and I was toast after that.

My runs have been hampered by a trick knee and some kind of breathing issue. I have some issues walking down stairs on occasion. My mileage this year will likely end up around 1500 miles. I need to dedicate more time to getting the knee back in shape. Lungs seem to not work as well as they did 3 years ago when I could still run a sub 7:00 mile. That's long gone - fatigue very quickly. I'm scheduled for a lung function test in January.

@jon-nyc you do about 5 miles per workout, then? That's what I do, but it's not every day for me. I try to do every other day.

Yep. A little less now that I don't do them alone. I used to be religious about getting them in every day, if the weather sucked I'd go to the local mall and walk if I had to. I don't do that now of course.

My sleep has improved during Covid, mostly because I usually get an hour or hour and a half nap in every day.

At night I'm still in the 4 to 4.5 range though.

650 calories per mile? That sounds off by a factor of five or so.

I’d be dead after a week of doing that. I need 8 hours, but will also happily take 10.

I try to do HIIT sprinting a few times each week.
Anything lengthy like running or cycling for miles just gets boring. Skipping & punch bag are also dull but good work outs.

Otherwise my daily go-to are suburi, juggling and planks, plus 20 flights of stairs.
Here's hoping for a replacement fitbit Christmas pressy as I find them useful, especially for this chocoholic

I’ve maintained the same weight for about 40 years. Of course a lot of it is through exercise.

But but but, I have a scale in the bathroom and while the water heats up for the shower I get on it every day. When I am a couple of pounds over the average I eat less for a few days if I am under I don’t think aboutwhether to eat that bowl of ice cream.

I’ve probably stood on the scale over 14000 times. 5 seconds each time. Gives me the data I need for maintaining my weight.

                                      No no no.

Thats Fitbit’s estimate of how many I burn. My only point was it’s probably a daily estimate not associated with just walking.

I’ve never paid attention to that. My weight has always managed itself unless I was sick or back in high school wrestling and had to stay precise about it.

Probably you burned several thousand calories by stepping on and off the scale 😉
