I will have to look into that podcast as I know too well the time perils of retirement. Will be a bit more scheduled for the winter as I took a half time consulting gig to develop interfaces for a university health system’s research group.

The things he talked about weren’t all that novel necessarily but just a kick in the pants to do them. He talked about short term vs long term time management, and I realized the latter is something that would really help with my board role - for example, mapping out in advance what things you should be working on in which months.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

Most ideas are not new, but revisiting them can get them foremost in your mind.

I've resolved to not be an asshole.

So far, so good, but nobody else is awake yet, so my monologue has remained internal.

Actually, my resolution is to spend a lot more time doing musical things, and a lot less doing stupid pointless stuff that I'm no good at and won't get me anywhere (other than music).

            I was only joking

Indeed. And what's more, breaking both resolutions!

New Year’s resolution is to either cut out drinking or at least cut our drinking when alone. My sleep/health would benefit from avoiding booze (and snacks!) before bed.

For retirement? That’s in 17 years (age 57 I hope) and will be filled with golf and travel.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Starting the year attempting to avoid as much added sugar as possible - along with no snacks after dinner. Difficult for me, but really need to do this. I have mostly given up alcohol (0 - 2 drinks a month) but I know sugar will be harder.

Studying Chinese every day this year.

Lifting weights regularly. Figure I’ll be a monster by 2024.
