Should be about 12 in the morning. As long as the wind lays, that won't be too bad.

I've still hunted in weather that cold, but it takes proper dress. I don't see how folks in Wisconsin or Minnesooota do it.

40 degrees and raining here. I guess it's called New England for a reason.

We're expecting 40-60mph winds tomorrow night, apparently.

      I was only joking

Warming up here. Right now it’s -26 c with a wind chill of -37 c. Big improvement over the last three days.

Back in the day we would have weather like this during our November elk and moose hunts. You can always dress for the cold.

        Elbows up!

We had no water this morning. Some prepper I turned out to be. I had meant to fill a bathtub last night before the freeze, but I forgot.

You could bathe in your pond?

I was imagining last night, while standing out in the cold, whether I would die if I had to spend the night on my back patio. I figured I would have survived. Then I imagined whether I could swim across the pond. I figured I would die. But then I remembered about those Polar Bear Club people. Maybe it's just mind over matter, up to a point. But, spoiler alert, I never tried. I just went back inside, and it felt even warmer, after my thought exercises.

It was also interesting to see our Malamute and how he felt about the weather. Didn't phase him at all. He stayed out for a while, enjoying the brisk breeze. It's about the only time that dumb dog with dumb eyes ever looks dignified. Facing into a freezing wind and being all stoic. Then he comes back in and looks at you with dumb eyes and you remember what a food stealing dummy he is.

Did you leave any faucets dripping?

Yes, the water problem isn't just at my home. It's the whole development. The utility company is working on it.

Got the water back and filled the tub. I think they added a super dose of chemicals to purify the water from anything that may have seeped in from whichever central pipe burst.

I was just about to get in, when I realized the mirror accidentally in the background. So embarrassing. Only my paid subscribers have access to that one.
