The people of Starbucks…

Last year my local Starbucks was having trouble staying open due to staffing issues…They finally seem to have resolved the staffing issues, but I’ve noticed the quality of service has been… Less… I’ve also noticed that the new staff members have been not quite what I expect from a company that sells a $.40 cup of coffee for $4.00 and markets itself as something more than the McDonalds of coffee…
I stopped in yesterday with Luke to grab a quick coffee. Luke recognized the cashier from the semester he worked at Walmart. They talked for a couple of minutes and the guy explained that while he missed the better pay from Walmart, the work there was a lot easier and the managers were a lot more forgiving when they screwed up…
You caught that, right? Walmart pays more than Starbucks…

I don't like the regular coffee there, it's bitter and burnt.
I must admit I do like their latte. Don't tell Ann Coulter.

I haven’t noticed any change but I get plain black drip coffee so it’s pretty hard to screw up.

I just drink plain black coffee, too. But… I’ve had many instances where the fresh coffee is luke warm as they haven’t brewed recently enough, I’ve had black coffee brought to me with cream in it, and when I’ve used the app to order ahead, arrived 10 minutes later, and still had to wait 5 minutes… 15 minute wait for a black coffee when I ordered ahead to have the coffee waiting…
