Very cool. I like the concept of using the tendencies of everyday objects to create art. We will be making a painting with paint and gauze soon that is along those lines.

    Education is extremely important.

"we" made this, for values of "we" meaning "she". I think it turned out well. Apparently all the cool kids are just leaning paintings against the wall these days rather than hanging them.

Yeah that's pretty neat. A combo of skill and a little luck (like that far right long arching crack). Plus, you don't need to be careful moving it.

89th, do you know about wabi sabi? "Wabi sabi is the beauty of imperfect things. Of course, that would be overly simplistic explanation for such a deep and profoundly rooted notion in the Japanese spirit. Something between an artistic concept, a philosophy of life and a personal feeling, wabi sabi is everywhere in Japanese culture.

It is stunning, and compelling to the gaze. The "she" was your wife?

Pretty bold to assign her gender like that. Then again, you do live in Texas where some sanity remains.

Pretty cool. Similar to the desire for stuff "with character".

I love this kind of approach to living, including my living space. There is also great meaning to having your own handmade items in your living area, both indoors and outdoors. The process of designing, selecting materials, creating, and placing is all part of the enjoyment in working on art that you live with, including the pieces that are meant to be useful, not just for viewing.

I especially appreciate the relaxation from certain steps of the process. Some parts of it are very challenging, and others are very calming, engrossing, even meditative. There's also a sense of personal growth as you see improvement in your skill set that's rewarding.

Perfection is not the goal. There's so much more to it.
