Murphy's Law and Treadmill

So we bought a new
clothes racktreadmill earlier this year. A week ago it started making a thumping noise, like the belt was loose. Each day this week I would turn it on to see if it still did it and of course the thumping noise happened immediately each time. So what do you think happened when the service tech came out to fix it?That's right, no noise.
Luckily the noise returned after a few minutes, but of course.....what are the odds it wouldn't happen on the 7th day, after 6 days straight?

Wow that is nice, especially the decline mode (seriously, it helps replicate the outside). Wish I had that.
We got a Horizon 7.4 AT. Has 3.5 HP, a 22" wide belt, but the main reasons (other than it's from a local fitness store, which includes good service) is it didn't have a fancy HD screen but instead excelled with bluetooth connectivity (audio, video, apps). It has integrated speakers, and two places to mount an iPad if you want to watch a show (speakers or headphones). We didn't want the screen since we can use an iPad or mount a TV.
Also, it integrates with Kinomap so I can virtually run anywhere (paris, grand canyon) and the video speeds up/down based on my treadmill speed. Further, the incline automatically changes based on the route.

That sounds nice. I don't use the screen. I got it entirely for the incline, which tops out at 15% on other brands.

If you were more frugal, you'd go and walk outside. Obviously, Horace can't do that in Texas, as they'd hunt him down and shoot him, but you should be relatively safe.

@Doctor-Phibes LOL, well I do run outside from May-Oct, but Nov-April it's treadmill time. I listen to a podcast while virtually running in London. Although I think I may binge Better Call Saul on my iPad since I just finished Breaking Bad.

@Copper sometimes it wouldn’t hurt to add a little detail into your posts
I hate it when he rounds his numbers off. 13,590 miles? Yeah, right. He walked exactly a multiple of ten miles. Uh huh. Sorry but - I know blatant rounding when I see it.

I have iFit too. I am good friends with lots of the trainers now.
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at one extremely fit lady who led me through 30 minutes of mild incline walking and at the end said it was the hardest hike she had ever done in her life. I guess her job is to try to channel people who are barely able to move, and make them feel normal.
