4 days ago, FiveThirtyEight had the Republicans winning the Senate 33 times out of 100. Now they are at 38.
They had Republicans taking control of the House 66 times out of 100. Now it’s at 73…

In August it was 50/50 - so what happened to make everybody hate the GOP?
Other than them being a bunch of twats, obviously. That's a constant.

Maybe drift just happens. The average voter has an attention span to rival a goldfish with dementia.

The models have the Republicans winning the Senate 40% of the time now, and the House is at 78%...https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2022-election-forecast/

I would have expected the Republicans to win, based on the current climate.
Everybody tells me it makes a huge difference and is enormously important, but I honestly haven't seen much evidence for that over the last 20 years.
Does it matter who wins the Superbowl? People get very excited about that too, but it doesn't actually make any difference to their lives, either.

Obamacare.
Obamacare.
TBH, that didn't affect me that much, but of course we already had Romneycare here not long after I arrived.
I'm not trying to say things don't change, but my life now is very similar to how it was before, and indeed not that different to how it was in Canada. Most of the changes are relatively small.

I've always said this.
Admittedly, the Iraq War could well have been something Al Gore might not have pursued with such enthusiasm as the Bush boys did, or even at all, and was arguably even more destructive and harmful to human life than Obamacare.

That's the beauty of how this government was designed. It's not supposed to make a huge difference, just regulate what must be regulated, defend what must be defended and then let the citizens take care of themselves. It's when we try to make government solve all problems for all people that we get into trouble.

Someone should do a poll regarding whether Americans prefer Dem policy platforms or Republican policy platforms. The tribe that prefers Republican policies (even if you have to infer it, as they do not like to say it out loud), but are terrified of siding with the Republicans for the social and status ramifications, is large and common. I dare say it’s the mainstream viewpoint among triple digit IQ lefties.

Hmmm...Could account for some folks being a might testy about politics the last week.

81 for the House. There's something odd, though. The models still have the Dems maintaining control of the Senate 55 out of 100 times, but they also show the Republicans winning control of both houses to be more likely than Dems winning the Senate and Republicans winning the House.

Undecideds are breaking towards GOP, I suppose.
