    "Brands tested: Wrangler Riggs Carpenter, Wrangler Riggs Flame Resistant, LEE Carpenter, Blue Mountain, Dickies, Carhartt Carpenter, Wrangler Authentic, Lucky, Levi’s Carpenter, Levi’s 505 and Nautica. Jeans tested for Breathability, Back Pocket and Hammer Loop Durability, Crotch Durability, Puncture Resistance, Abrasion Resistance, Pocket Fabric Puncture Resistance, and Flame Resistance. Work/Carpenter Jeans also compared for subjective qualities, including comfort and fit. I purchased all of the jeans and supplies used to test the jeans to ensure an unbiased review."

      I own a couple pair of the George's. Some things he didn't mention...They have less belt loops and the zippers are shorter. The fabric is ok.

      If money is tight, they ain't bad. Otherwise, I prefer Wranglers.

        @Jolly said in $16 vs $99 Jeans?:

        I'm in the market for a couple of pairs right now. I've bought Lands End, and they held up pretty well for everyday wear. Currently in a pair of Wranglers that seem OK.

        Next buy will probably be Wranglers or Levis.

          Fit is subjective. Levi's never fit quite right.

            I've worn Levi's for the last 35 years. Sadly, I can't fit into the 401's any more.

            I always looked like a bit of a doink in Wranglers. I probably do in Levi's, too, but I noticed it more in the Wranglers.

            I was only joking

              I’m in awe of his testing methods. Excellent.

                For tool geeks, he's a godsend. He evaluates everything from hammers to auto jacks. And he measures everything. @Jolly is the one who pointed him out.

                  I found a good pair of Lucky (Brand) jeans a few years ago and have been buying them since. Very comfortable, not too expensive (I think like $50?), and given that I wear jeans basically non-stop from October to April, I get my money's worth.

                    Ladies denim is more expensive than men’s. I’d wager mens denim is better constructed too. Adding Lycra to denim aids with comfort, but durability sure decreases.

                      I suggested the All American Clothing Company Stonewashed Jeans for the next round of testing. I really like the pair I have.

                        Jeans are inherently racist.
