India China violent crash at the border

They both have COVID-19 problems, they both have economic problems. You’d think they have better things to focus on.

Both sides had agreed that previous that the soldiers on either side of the border would not be armed with guns, so they attacked each other with posts wrapped in barb wire, cricket bats with nails in them, rocks, etc!!
Long time ago, I was in the town of Leh, which is in Indian Tibetan plateau, not super close, but in teh general area of where the disputed border line is.
Below are a couple of pictures that show the type of terrain that they are fighting in. Beautiful country, but I am not sure how the people survive there.

In the second picture, with all the rocks. What are those big things that look like jugs. Some seem smaller (those closer to the camera), the others in the distance are taller than the dwellings on the right. I'm thinking maybe they are yurts, or really huge kegs of something.

?@Rainman Sorry but I dont know. LOL I think it is part of a cemetery but not sure.
