OK, I'm about 25 minutes into this. Fascinating concept, and totally impractical wrt human flight.

But, for other stuff, wow - if they can pull it off. There are so many considerations - vibration, tensile strength, timing the doors, maintaining vacuum.

In somewhat related news...The U.S. Space Force added 86 new officer from the USAF Academy this past spring. The SF has now taken over responsibility for military satellites and I assume any new military satellite launches.

As with nearly every topic, I feel like we talked about this like a year or so ago. The short version being like you said.........impossible for humans, but quite intriguing.
