I have my computer wallpaper randomly change. For the pictures, I chose to have photos of our train travels, touring, etc.

When we were in Denver, in 2019, we felt like eating in our hotel, and we ordered a pizza. Sausage, mushroom, and green pepper.

This monstrosity is what was delivered.

Ugh. I have never been a big fan of pizza until I discovered Neapolitan style, then Detroit style (kind of like Chicago, but doesn't sit like a big rock in your stomach).

But that looks awful. And why the pepperoni?

@Mik and the mushrooms look like they came out of a can.

The place downstairs does a good deep-dish pizza, but it is heavy to be sure. Eating half of a small pizza is a challenge.

Pizza is like another form of pie. There is good, better and best.

            There is no bad.

A: Because when it's good, it's very good. And when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

That "pizza" in Denver was the exception.

You can taste the huntz canned tomato sauce through the screen.

I can't say what it actually tasted like, but judging from the photo I've seen and eaten pizzas that looked way worse.

These days I eat pizza maybe three times a year, but in student times pizza from the fridge was of course a major staple of the diet.

I've never understood the point of deep-dish.

A good pizza needs to be quite thin, in my opinion. Too much stuff on it, especially too much cheese, ruins it.

I don't care for mushrooms but that slice just needs some good mozzarella melted on top and some red pepper flakes, and I would eat it. I am one of the least picky eaters you'd meet. Drives my wife crazy. For lunch today I'll be rolling up some deli turkey, wrap it in a slice of colby jack cheese, and dipping it into some mustard.

I am agnostic on that. I love a good thin-crust (that's what I usually have) and I see the crust as nothing more than a vehicle to convey the toppings. Lots of cheese, meats, veggies, etc.

A "pan" pizza, as depicted in those pictures, is not the same as "thick crust" which I rarely eat. Too much bread, too heavy, and bloat-inducing. The "pan" pizza is really a casserole on top of a bread crust.
