Who would want to be a cop in today's world?

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

One NYPD. One CPD. Lots in Gainesville FL where my sister works in the Department.

The question is whether to embark on the career, not to continue in an established one. Those are different questions.

                Education is extremely important.

In FL they get a pension and retirement healthcare they would unlikely be able to match in the private sector

Maybe not. But what about the public sector? Florida has about 245,000 public employees.
