      Water?

Sea water desalination. Just need to burn enough fossil fuel (or split enough uranium) to git 'r done.

I’m not sure why you’d want to put that where no one wants to live anyway, but it’s certainly impressive.

Build it there to attract people to go live there?

Almost as cool as the master planned communities in the Houston suburbs.

                Education is extremely important.

Hey I think the out of the box thinking and uber long-term planning for new types of cities is a good idea. The irony of this city being well-planned, environmentally friendly, etc etc etc....but only being built because of the wealth gathered from sucking the earth dry of oil that took millions of years to form...

A ramble, but you know what I mean. Still, urban planning that can take into account technology, transportation, water usage, safety, environment/agriculture, etc... will eventually be needed.

But living in the desert? Need I post my Sam Kinison clip again?

I dont see that being built and of course, the artist drawings are a "best case" viewing, but it does look cool.
