Lord, I forgot how heathenistic y'all are.

Larry was Baptist. And country. After services, you should have food, but we're talking Baptist food. Southern Baptist food. Fried chicken. Pot roast and gravy. Smoked pork shoulder. Snap beans and new potatoes. Butterbeans. Field peas. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Some scattered casseroles, maybe a lasagna. Yeast rolls. Sweet tea.

      At least I hope so...

Up here in the true North in the country, it’s food. Ukrainian food and lot’s of it. Pierogi, kubasa, nachninka, holopchy, khlib, borscht, griechka all washed down with rye whisky or Dido’s homemade horilka.

All blessed by the parish priest.

      Elbows up!

I have never seen such a list of foods I did not recognize. Pierogies and borscht, sure, but not the rest.

I'm in the same boat you are, although I wonder if kubasa and kielbasa are similar...

OK, I looked them all up. Now I recognize them.

Isn't it funny how so many cultures have their version of ravioli?

              Pierogi
              Empanadas
              Pot Stickers
              Kaldunai

              etc.

I thought about this a few days ago, I figured it was about a year.

In the obituary, there was no mention of his spouse, son, nor grandchildren. Weird. Sad.
