    @George-K there's no question who would win an election at this point.

    To be honest, I think it's high time the Tories were kicked out. They've done a bloody awful job of late, and since Labour got rid of the Corbyn brigade, they should be a better bet. Keir Starmer is seemingly a charisma-free zone, but charisma didn't seem to help Boris much in governing.

    @Doctor-Phibes

    Keir Starmer for some reason, reminds me of the late Desmond Llewelyn - the original Q in Bond movies. Not only facially but voice and mannerisms as well. Couldn’t place it for the longest time until this morning when he was on the BBC giving the Tories a right bollocking for their ineptitude at governing.

          Paraphrasing Piers Morgan (who also echo'ed @Doctor-Phibes ' comment about terrible leaders) said that if BoJo is chosen as PM there will be a rush of Brits trying to immigrate to the US for the relative calm and stability of American politics.

                Boris Johnson has escaped from Elba, landed in Cornwall, and is marching on London.

                      Her tenure as prime minister spans two monarchs. Nobody has done that since Churchill.

                          To be fair, he got lost and is currently driving North up the M1.

                          Punsters said that Liz couldn't be Trussted. Boris is fast approaching Scunthorpe. Read into that what you will.

                          It's unlikely he's ever been so close to Yorkshire before.

                              @Doctor-Phibes

                              I'm not sure how you do it. Maybe because I'm American and therefore don't care about other countries, but I was going down the wiki black hole of learning more about how the British government works, specific to the PM, and... how do you all keep things straight?

                              For example, the PM is the head of the UK government, but advises the sovereign on the exercise of much of the royal prerogative. It's a position based on who commands trust of the House of Commons (which seems like the US House of Representatives, except with more shouting), and the PM is also the First Lord of the Treasury, Minister for the Civil Service. Then there's the House of Lords, which is really the "The Right Honourable the Lords Spiritual and Temporal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled", which is kind of like the US Senate, except the titles are passed on to heirs, instead of elections? At what point does the King come and point at people he wants to be beheaded?

                                The UK system was mostly a product of evolution rather than revolution (excepting that asshole Cromwell, as my Russian friend refers to him), which I think leads to more quirks. Also, while my ancestors evolved, yours were revolting.
