I don't think much of a gift from the airport.

Yeah but I can't afford not to buy duty free gifts.

There should be a ton of touristy shops there, it's a really nice university city.

Just don't let any of the toffs de-bag you.

If you really want to blend in, tell them it's not a patch on Oxford. They love that friendly rivalry.

English people, particularly women, love to be complemented on the tightness of their fanny. It might seem a bit forward, but remember the British are just so laid back about that kind of thing.

Tell everyone your name is Randy and introduce yourself that way. Your real first name means idiot in British slang.

In British business meetings, clothes maketh the man - you really need to wear suspenders, and make a point of telling everybody you're doing so.

Be sure to eat your food using only your fork prongs up. Only use your knife to cut food then immediately put it aside. Under no circumstances should you use your knife to put food on your fork. That is is the role of bread.

Thanks. My company is cheap and I'll be flying coach. While I'm there, I'll be in an office in meetings all day. I don't anticipate having much fun, but I decided to go anyway. It'll be over soon, and I'll be glad I went.

Hopefully you're close to the city itself rather than on an industrial estate - it's definitely worth trying to get a day in the town itself if you can, even if it's just to take in the architecture.

Do you know somebody at the university? A dinner in one of their colleges is an unforgettable experience.

This has nothing to do with the university. A contracting company we work with has its offices there.

                                          Education is extremely important.
