Lumber coming down?

Sounds like my kind of folks. Might want to visit and help them out some. Lots for little ones to do on a place like that and you could obtain some cool new skills.

Totally. They have a 6 year old that knows how to do more than most grown men. Shoot, drive, cut wood, etc. Every time I visit I leave with a few cool stories. Just off the top of my head as I type this:
- Guarded donkey pasture for 2 hours with shotgun after a wolf tried to attack
- Practiced with the county sniper squad with .308 rounds, shooting at targets at 300-700 yards
- Went snow mobiling in -30 temps, had the vehicle break down 5 miles from house and learned quickly that they come with spare
tiresbelts which you have about 3 minutes to change out before your fingers lose any feeling in those temps - Drove a 1951 ford tractor

Well I don’t see lumber coming down here.
The other day I went out to get a sheet of 1/2” construction grade spruce plywood. Two years ago it would have cost $45. Today it is $80.
Likewise a bundle of 24 x 1” x 2” x 48” stakes I use for pickets on a dog fence. Two years ago a bundle cost $24. Today the same is $65.00. I will rip my own on my table saw using old 2x4’s in the garage or discarded wood pallets that are readily available for the taking throughout industrial areas not far from home.
