No, I don't think at all that I'm doing something for the environment. If you add all the various effects together, the car is at best neutral compared to a traditional car. I'm just an above-average-earning leech who profits from a highly subsidized car paid for, to a large degree, from taxes by people who could never afford a car like that.

I'm just curious, what is the cost to replace the battery? I've heard for most EV's it's much more than to replace a gas engine.
