Here is a statement from an erstwhile GOP judge who's all-in on the histrionic narrative. Nary a sentence goes by in this statement without some top-shelf word being deployed to impress the gravity of the situation upon the reader. Our entire democracy existed on a precipice we could have pulled back from with a few locked doors. But nobody responsible for locking the doors, or for understanding that they should be locked, is being held accountable.
