C‘mon, Elon just said he has a “super bad feelig” about the conomy. Who are you going to believe, Elon or Goldman?

If we “skip a recession”, would that mean the Feds have successfully pulled off a “soft landing” and kudos to the Biden administration for their expert stewardship of the American economy? 😉

I think we will have a mini recession (or a mini-version of the early 80s). The fundamentals of the economy are good, but the shift in <everything> from the pandemic, the supply/chain, the Russian war... to a very long series of pushing rates low to offset the 2008 crash... all lead to a natural recession is coming. See above chart... it's due.

Now if you're feeling good after that... don't forget social security should be tapped dry in like 15 years. That'll be fun to address.

We're going to have a recession.

@Jolly said in Goldman says we will skip a recession:

We're going to have a recession.

Yes, just a matter of degree and timing.

One way to “skip a recession”:

                  https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2022/06/07/world-bank-global-growth-forecast-stagflation/

The World Bank forecasts “stagflation” for the global economy. Ominous warning about food supply disruption due to the Russia/Ukraine war leading to civil unrests and uprisings in food-importing countries.

Biden is such a dumbass. The time to address food is NOW. Actually, would have been better back in February.

Much of the South has an almost year-round growing season. Utilize it. Much land is in CRP. End it.
